Dev Update 2021-08-12

It's Friday! If you still don't know what that means, you haven't been paying attention! :P

A lot of things have been happening in my personal life that will have a positive impact on the future of Infinite Stars. I'm not quite ready to share it with everyone, but I should have some exciting news in the next month or two.

I've shared a yet-to-be-implemented melody done by Saeed for Lebeny's theme. This is one of three dynamic versions that we are planning to use in a creative way. (You can listen to the track here)

On the development side, the story controller works, with special thanks to my full-time coder friend for his input, patience, and time. I've been implementing it for all the different branches, and I can't help but get excited.

The code is responsible for ensuring players see the right sequence of dynamic scenes during an episode. It also makes it easier for me to write and implement future side stories to make the world feel "more alive

I've got a few things I'm working on that I'm excited to share, but you'll have to wait until it's in-game first.

Here's the dev notes for the current dev build:

>> Patrons can get the devbuild from here <<

Version .08.20

Added time manager to manage time from Early Morning > Late Evening.

Implemented story controller to manage the dynamic flow of story and events.

Changed the "Navigation Background." I'm happier with the looks now, but the rest of the interface will probably be reworked in the future.

Added disabled buttons to nav interface to enforce story flow in certain situations.

-added story for bridge day0

-added story for personal quarters day0

Implemented pauses and expressions for Bridge Day 0

Implemented pauses and expressions for Personal Quarters Day 0

Added story controller for:

- Aeroponics

- MedSec

- Engineering

- Bridge

- Personal Quarters

Implemented navigation logic for all scenes on Day 0.

Continued working on relationship/interaction logic (I think all of you are going to like the end result.)

// Still need to add some scene logic with variables. It's super easy and quick to do, but the Story Controller and the implementation thereof took a considerable chunk of time.

// Still need to add the music tracks for Lebeny and the variations thereof as received from Saeed. (I'll do a post on this a little later, but it's another cool feature I've been planning for a while.)
