Thalassaphilia

Five exceptional astronauts. An expedition to Saturn's frozen moon. One tragic accident that changes everything.
Hand-picked for an unprecedented mission, the crew onboard the Rihltasis has spent a decade training for the harsh reality of space.
Enceladus, an otherworldly satellite crowned with ice and rumoured to hide a hidden ocean beneath its surface, awaits them. But before they reach their destination, a fatal airlock malfunction claims the life of Dr. Maller, leaving the mission reeling and dangerously shorthanded.
You are the replacement doctor, but your mission instructions differ from the rest of your new crew members...
Thalassaphilia is the first chapter of a new slow-burn sci-fi romance story set in the Infinite Stars universe, a few years before the Mah'Abeu project was conceptualised.

does anyone know when this is going to be updated?
Thank you for your interest! We're working very hard on the next content release for Infinite Stars, releasing later this month, and then we have two other projects that will be releasing in April and May, respectively if all goes according to plan.
We'll most likely revert our attention back to Thalassaphilia then, or earlier if possible.
Sorry for the wait, but comments like yours encourage us to continue working on Thalassaphilia!
you don't have to apologize at all! this game is amazing and i'm so excited for whatever is to come. thank you for taking the time to reply!
i made an itch.io account just to comment that i LOVE this game and i absolutely need more from this story!! the writing is absolutely amazing
LOVE the writing in this! The art style is not my favorite, personally (especially for the women, but that's a tangent), but the story more than makes up for that. The characters are fun and varied and you can feel them trying to get close to you while, at the same time keeping you at an arms length which makes the mystery even more palpable. And that cliffhanger! Rude.... I love it. I can't wait to see more from this!
Spoilers for people who haven't played the game yet below (hopefully it'll actually cut the message off)
Damn, not everyone having a justifiable K somewhere 😠I've not gotten very far yet, but it's an intriguing start!
As a cane user with EDS I very much appreciate the representation from a very pretty nerd. Massive kudos! Also the game is a lot of fun and I'm so excited for more to come out!
I NEED MORE. THIS IS GREAT!
I liked it a lot and was really intrigued by the mystery! Also, loved getting to know Kristian; what a cutie. Hope more people like it enough to warrant a continuation. Regardless, thank you for the escapism ♡
Will there be a downloadable version?
Yeah, if we do continue development, the full game will be downloadable. (In the meantime, I haven't tried myself, but it might be possible to download the game via the itchio app!)
Interesting concept, I am really intrigued by the story and the characters. You certainly do have a knack for writing.
Few questions though:
I'll be looking forward to more content!
Thanks! The writing was a group effort, but the same writers as for Infinite Stars.
Thanks for the feedback and encouragement. We have a bit more planned for the story, and not to keep repeating myself, but if the reception and support warrants it, we'll continue working on it. If not, it's a fun little game (Over 20K+ words though to 100% complete) and allowed us to implement some ideas we've been wanting to try.
I can understand that, creating images does take time and drives up the project's cost. I do, however, believe that some background images would sell the prototype a little bit better to the general audience.
Thanks for answering my questions. Now I have a better understanding of the project. Looking forward to the next release!
So where in the timeline does this take place the impression I get is way before Humanity met the Cehphellusk
You're absolutely right. This takes place during the colonization of Sol era. A lot of the colonies have declared independence and the Protectorate is still very new (and very much focused on Earth's interests instead of Sol as a whole.)
